Dai and Tom
The morning mist enshrouded the valley, As Dai made his way to the mine. He has trekked this path for many a year, Sometimes weary, and sometimes fine. Passing the colliery gates again, He saw Tom, his best friend, nearby. Together they headed for the pithead canteen, An oasis in everyone's eye! 'What's on the menu today?' uttered Dai, 'Maybe salmon!' said Tom with glee, No such luck , as the cook stooped down to say, 'It's a saucer of milk for thee!' Richardpeej July 2013 |
