In the Autumn of Life
Yesterday a flower, A-blooming in the lee, Was holding up its head so high, For all the world to see. Today its withered petals, A-fading on stems once green. Its beauty then is waning now, As Autumn sets the scene. Tomorrow when I amble here, A-seeking my gift so fair. Will it still savour life on earth, Or live in the great elsewhere. Richardpeej 2011 |
